BEML Limited, a pioneering Multi Business (Mining & Construction, Rail & Metro, Aerospace, Dredger and Defence) Heavy Engineering Company with a Turnover of over Rs. 3500 Crores requires ENGINEER TRAINEES (ETs)/ ASST. ENGINEER TRAINEES (AETs)/ MANAGEMENT TRAINEES (MT-HR) for its various Manufacturing Units at Mysore, Bangalore, KGF, Palakkad and Marketing Division.

TRAINING PERIOD/ CONTRACT PERIOD
i) Engineer Trainees
& Management Trainees - Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of one year, from the date of their joining.
ii) Asst. Engineer Trainee - Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of two years, from the date of their joining.

REMUNERATION
i) Engineer Trainees
& Management Trainees - Selected candidates will be placed on a starting basic pay of Rs.16,400/- pm in the pay scale of Rs. 16400 – 40500 during their training period. Apart from the above, Dearness Allowance and applicable allowances will also be payable as per Company Rules. On successful completion of their training period and on assessment of suitability they will be absorbed as Engineer/ Officer (Grade-II) in the same pay scale with one additional increment (@3% of Basic Pay) and will be on probation for a period of one year.
 
ii) Asst. Engineer Trainee - Selected candidates will be placed on a starting basic pay of Rs.12,600/- pm during their 1st year training and Rs.12,980/- pm for the 2nd year training in the pay scale of Rs. 12600 – 32500 during their training period. Apart from the above, Dearness Allowance and applicable allowances will also be payable as per Company Rules. On successful completion of their training period and on assessment of suitability they will be absorbed as Asst. Engineer (Grade-I) in the same pay scale with one additional increment (@3% of Basic Pay of 2nd year training) and will be on probation for a period of one year.

SERVICE BOND
i) Engineer Trainees & Management Trainees - Candidates are required to execute a Service Bond to serve the Company for a period of 3 years over and above the training period i.e 4 years including training period, failing which candidates are liable to pay the liquidated damages amounting to Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two lakhs only) OR the cost of training including pay during training period whichever is higher.
ii) Asst. Engineer Trainees - Candidates are required to execute a Service Bond to serve the Company for a period of 2 years over and above the training period i.e 4 years including training period, failing which candidates are liable to pay the liquidated damages amounting to Rs.1,50,000/- (Rupees One lakh fifty thousand only) OR the cost of training including pay during training period whichever is higher.

Four (4) posts for Engineer Trainees/ Management Trainees i.e (Engineer Trainee -HH/OH) or (Management Trainee – VH/OH) and One (1) post for Asst. Engineer Trainee – HH/OH is reserved for PWDs.
 
Age : Age relaxation (5 yrs for SC/ST, 3 yrs for OBC (Non-creamy layer) & 10 yrs for PWD) will be given as per Government Rules.

Relaxation in Marks : Relaxation in percentage of marks as indicated in the table above.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
  • Only Indian Nationals may apply.
  • Age & Qualification stipulated above should be as on 16.02.2011 i.e the last date of receipt of the application.
  • Candidates having any other pattern of evaluation other than percentage i.e CGPA etc in their qualifying exam are required to convert their respective Grades/ Marks to percentage pattern based on the applicable conversion formula and should meet the minimum qualifying marks as indicated above. The percentage should be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all semesters. Please see FAQ for details.
  • OBC candidates** are required to submit Other Backward Class Certificate ('Non-Creamy Layer'*) (Certificate in the format as applicable for appointment to posts under Government of India, is to be produced) at the time of interview, if shortlisted..
    [Note: ** OBC Candidates: Candidates belonging to those Communities which are recognized as a backward class by the Government of India for the purpose of reservation in services as per orders contained in Department of Personnel and Training Office Memorandum No.36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08.09.1993.
    *Non- Creamy Layer : The gross annual income of parents of the candidate should not be more than Rs.4.5 lakhs in last three consecutive years in line with DOPT OM No.36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated 14th October, 2008.']
  • Candidates employed in Government / Quasi-Government / PSU, should send their application through proper channel which can be downloaded after submission of online application or compulsorily produce NOC at the time of interview as on when called.
  • Candidates with following equivalent qualifications may also apply :
  1. Mechanical Engg. Discipline : Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial & Production/ Manufacturing/ Mechatronics.
  2. Electrical Engg. Discipline : Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics (EEE)
  3. Electronics Engg. Discipline : Electronics/ Electronics & Communication
  • In the case of candidates with other related qualifications, their candidature may be considered at the discretion of Management.
  • The candidates should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement as on the specified dates and that the particulars furnished are correct in all respect. In case, it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that a candidate doesn't fulfill the eligibility norms and/ or that he/ she has furnished any incorrect/ false information or has suppressed any material/ fact(s), his/ her candidature shall stand automatically cancelled. If any of the above shortcoming(s) is/ are detected even after appointment, his/ her services are liable to be terminated without notice.
  • Mere meeting the conditions of the Advertisement by the candidate(s) will not automatically entail them to be called for Written Test/ Interview and Selection & Appointment.
  • The vacancies may vary (increase / decrease) depending upon actual requirement.
  • The Management reserves the right to increase the minimum % of marks to restrict the number of candidates.
  • Candidates will have an option to answer/ reply in Hindi if so desired at the time of interview.

The candidates are required to ON-LINE only which is mandatory by clicking the "Apply ON-LINE" Link
and after going through the prescribed guidelines and ensuring correctness of the data entered in the portal / form. The last date for submission of application by on-line is 16.02.2011. Applications sent by post/ courier etc will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected (Except in respect of candidates working in Government/ Quasi Government / PSU etc) who are required to forward the additional print out of the application as stated above in the General Conditions.
