Mizoram University – Recruitment of Various Faculty and Non-Faculty Posts


Mizoram University is a Central University being set up on modern standards with excellent academic infrastructure and research facilities including a Central Analytical and Preparatory Facility consisting of sophisticated equipments.

 Applications are invited for filling up of vacant Teaching and Non-teaching posts under the University as tabled vide Annexure - I.

                                                                                                                     
T E R M S   A N D   C O N D I T I O N S

i)          Complete application as per the prescribed format appearing at Annexure - IIalong with application fee of ` 500.00 in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of  Registrar, Mizoram University on State Bank of  India, Aizawl Main Branch may be submitted to the Deputy Registrar, Administration-I, Recruitment Cell, Mizoram University, Post Box No.190, Aizawl, Mizoram - 796 004. SC, ST and Physically Handicapped applicants are fully exempted from payment of the prescribed fees.
            The Application form as per the prescribed format appearing at Annexure-II may be created or downloaded in A-4 size paper. The prescribed format of application form along with the required Datasheet/Academic Performance Indicators (API) score sheet may also be obtained from Recruitment Cell, Administration-I, Mizoram University by paying ` 50.00. 
ii)         Applications should be supported by relevant documents (attested) in all respects. Applications not supported by documents will be summarily rejected.
 iii)        Applications for the posts reserved for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes should be supported by the Caste/Tribe certificate in a GOI prescribed format duly issued by concerned authority. Applications for posts reserved for Physically Handicapped should be supported by appropriate Medical Certificate duly issued by the authorized Medical Board. Applicants for the reserved post of OBC are required to submit a certificate regarding his/her 'OBC status and non-creamy layer status' in a prescribed format duly issued by the concerned authority. Relaxations and concessions will apply as per GOI Reservation rules.
iv)        Candidates already in service should submit their applications through proper channel. While an advance copy may be sent directly, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or duly forwarded application should be produced at the time of interview.
v)         Last date of receipt of complete application is 04/03/2011. For candidates outside North-Eastern States, the last date of receipt of complete application is 17/03/2011.
vi)        The University reserves the right not to fill any of the post(s). There may be an increase or decrease in the number of posts.
vii)       No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.  However, SC/ST/ PWD candidates will be paid second class railway/bus fare by shortest route, by way of cheque.
viii)      Certificate in support of experience shall be in proper format i.e. it shall bear the organisation's letter-head, bear the date of issue, specific period of work, name and designation of issuing authority along with signature and  official seal.
ix)        The University will not be responsible for postal delay in any correspondences with the applicants/candidates.
x)         Application after the last date, incomplete in any respect and any fresh paper/enclosures after the closing date, shall not be considered.
xi)        The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate, at any time, at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service.  In case of fake documents, clandestine antecedents or suppression of information, services in the University shall be terminated.
xii)       In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage, even after issue of appointment, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate(s).
xiii)      Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications and API scores, furnished with clarity, as laid down in the advertisement/University website.
xiv)      No correspondence nor telephonic/electronic query will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview. Canvassing directly or indirectly at any stages of the recruitment processes will lead to disqualification.
 xv)       Applications shall be sent/submitted by superscribing the post applied for   along with the Post Code on the envelope.
xvi)      Separate application is required for different posts and different reserved categories (i.e, for post bearing different codes)
xvii)     In institutions where grading system is followed, applicants are required to convert the grade obtained by them into its equivalent percentage giving the standard conversion formula.
xviii)    Candidates who already applied against earlier advertisements of this University are required to submit fresh application since the UGC Regulation 2010 is in effect. Candidates who already applied and paid the required fees for the post of Assistant Professor against earlier advertisements are exempted from paying the prescribed fees. However, those candidates who applied against earlier advertisements for the post of Associate Professor/Professor are required to pay the prescribed fees afresh.
xix)      With the implementation of the UGC Regulations 2010, aspirants for the jobs advertised are required to submit their applications with completed Mizoram University Datasheet for Assistant Professor and the API scoring proforma for Associate Professor, Professor, Deputy Librarian and Librarian.
xx)       Procedure of scrutiny (screening of applications) to the posts of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in MZU will be based on the provisions stipulated under the amended OE-3 'On Notification of Vacancies and Preliminary Selection' of MZU Ordinances'. Accordingly, screening of applications will be based on the 'Datasheet' for Assistant Professor and the 'API Score' for Associate Professor, Professor, Deputy Librarian and Librarian.

Teachers are provided hard furnished housing and Special Duty Allowance of 12.5% of Basic Pay + AGP besides all other Central allowances and NER concessions. A Kendriya Vidyalaya has been set up for education of the children of employees. Download Annexure-I
